Football Fans in Buenos Aires Arrested For Carrying Drugs and Weapons

INTERNATIONAL: Buenos Aires Police arrested more than 250 soccer fans outside River Plate's Monumental stadium on Sunday 10th April.

The fans were arrested for carrying knives, drugs, and phosphoric flares as they tried to enter River Plate's Antonio Vespucio Liberti Monumental Stadium to witness the Cup match against Argentinos Juniors.

Footage of Buenos Aires Police shows the detained fans lying on the ground outside the stadium and then being taken into police vehicles.

According to local media, a few days earlier the majority of the detained soccer fans had been added to Argentina’s database of the 'Tribuna Segura'- program that aims to make soccer matches in the South-American country safer.
